FINANCIAL AID

Policy

While the availability of school resources, the number of qualified applicants and overall budgetary constraints influence tuition assistance decisions, Covenant Christian School is committed to making grants available to as many eligible applicants as possible. In an effort to make the process fair to all, CCS considers the following when making award decisions:

  • No family is granted more than 50% off tuition for a school year.

  • New students must have submitted an application and completed the enrollment process. Current students must not be in arrears for any obligations to CCS. Qualifying students must be enrolled in grades K-12. CCS does not offer tuition assistance for grades K3 or K4.

  • The primary responsibility for financing a student’s education rests with the family.

  • Both parents are expected to contribute to tuition. If a parent chooses not to  work, CCS imputes an income for a non-working parent. An exception is made for parents/guardians of preschool age children.

  • In the case of divorce or separation, CCS requires both parents to file an application for financial aid. CCS is not bound by any divorce agreement specifying a parent’s responsibility for educational expenses. Exceptions can be made on a case by case basis. A written request must be made to the administrator who will review the request with the financial aid committee.

CCS believes a family should make their child’s educational investment a priority over elective expenses.

A budget amount for financial aid will be set by the financial aid committee each spring prior to the opening of the application process.

Should the amount of need as determined by a third party exceed the amount of funds budgeted, the funds will be distributed proportionately to qualifying families based on their award amount.

Process

CCS will use a third party, FACTS Grant and Aid, to complete the financial need analysis. All applications will be made to the designated third party and any fees associated with the application will be paid directly to said third party.

All tax returns and forms requested by the designated third party must be submitted by the family in order for their application to be considered.

The deadline to apply for financial aid for current families is April 15, 2019.

Tax returns and requested forms must be received by May 1, 2019.
