Our annual Tacky Christmas Sweater Day made our hallways and classrooms extra festive!
What a joy to hear little voices singing praises to our Savior! The K-4 and K-5 classes performed their annual Christmas play this week. The play focused on Jesus being the Light of the World and how we can share His light!
CCS Lady Eagles took down Colbert Heights in the first round of the county tournament tonight, scoring 53 to 43. High scorers for the Eagles included Ashlee Gann with 21, Anna Cate Nicholson with 10 and Delaney Johnson with 8. Happy 18th birthday to senior Delaney Johnson!
Varsity kicked off the County Invitational at home against Cherokee on Tuesday with an 88 to 20 victory. Wyatt Vess had 20. Reed Trapp had 15. Ryan Huston had 13. Haston Alexander had 10. They play the championship game Saturday at 7 p.m. Go Eagles!
The boys' varsity team defeated Shoals Christian on Monday, scoring 63 against Shoals Christian's 24.

The *BEST* CCS students are competing in Auburn at the BEST Robotics competition with the best teams from Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Florida. The seven students are heading into a full day of competition tomorrow. Go Eagles!

Our high school students have so enjoyed our new extracurricular classes! Today, our culinary arts students made a campfire and brought their favorite foods to cook over the fire. There is no better way to spend a chilly afternoon than by fellowshipping with one another at a campfire and eating your favorite foods! #PreparingHeadsAndHearts #CCSEagles
CCS dedicated the gym to Bill Deegan yesterday in a packed gym of former student athletes who came to celebrate the one who coached them in sports and in life! Coach Deegan has coached in the North/South All-Star Game; he was Alabama state coach of the year twice (1992 &1994); and he was the TimesDaily Coach of the Year four times. He was inducted into the Colbert County Sports Hall of Fame in 2011. His lifetime record currently stands at 1,088-443. He has coached for 48 years, 25 of those being at Covenant Christian School.
Varsity boys ruled the court against Cherokee in a home game last night, winning 85 to 26. What a show you gave us, Eagles! We love the Cov!
Our annual Thanksgiving lunch was enjoyed by all. We are so very thankful for our Covenant families.

Students of the Week were recognized for being helpers to their friends, hard workers, & for shining their lights for Jesus.
Chad Talley, Director of Children’s Ministry at Tuscumbia First UMC, shared how being thankful should become a habit for us just like brushing our teeth.
Our first graders have been studying the Pilgrims. They made butter and then did a STEM challenge creating their own Mayflower using recycled materials that would float. They planned, created, and then tested their Mayflowers.
Second graders took a break to get comfortable with pillows and stuffed 🐻 animals to read 📚 some of their favorite books during their Read In.
Our upper school students enjoyed a special Thanksgiving service with local pastor, Shawn Bernard. He reminded our students as we enter this season of Thanksgiving, to offer our thanks to God for the many things that He has so richly blessed us with. “For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” Psalm 100:5, ESV
