Our Covenant Campers ๐๏ธ were able to get their hands dirty while gardening. They spent time cleaning out the raised beds, planting cucumbers and tomatoes, and watering the new ๐บ flowers. We appreciate Green Clips Garden Center in Muscle Shoals for their support with this project.
Lady Eagles are hitting the courts for summer training. They took wins over Belgreen and Vina in the early stages of preparation with a new team. Good luck, Lady Eagles!
At the Shoals Junior Circuit tennis tournament this weekend, Zoe Griffin finished as the 15u runner up. Colin Thompson finished as the 18u consolation winner! Way to go Eagles! ๐ฆ

Please join us in welcoming Delaney Gist to the Covenant family as our 2nd grade teacher. She is from Leighton and recently married her husband, Noah. They are members of Barton First Baptist in Cherokee. She graduated from the University of North Alabama and received a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.
Delaney is excited to embark on this teaching journey, and grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of students at Covenant Christian School.

Varsity Boys competed at a basketball teams camp at UNA today, triumphing over Mars Hill and Oakman. A buzzer shot from the backcourt saved the game for Muscle Shoals at the end, but the Eagles were dominating the day. ๐ ๐ฆ
Camp ๐๏ธ Covenant had a blast ๐during Mission: Space Week! They created rockets, constructed a solar oven and cooked s'mores, tie dyed shirts, made galaxy slime, and so much more. Each week brings new and engaging activities for our campers.
They made school history! Baseball greats John Michael Basinger (rising senior) and Henry Glover (new graduate) are the Eaglesโ FIRST two-time All-State players! This deserves some noise ๐ฆ

Ashlee Gann is headed to college with another great recognition after being named by the Times Daily to the 2023 All Area Softball Team! Congratulations Ashlee on so many accomplishments in several sports! ๐ฅ ๐ฆ
The Times Daily found a shining star among the new Track and Field team at CCS, naming Kristen Shaw (rising senior) to the 2023 All Area Girls Team! Kristen has earned the honor with a collection of medals and silent hard work as a multi-sport athlete. Way to go, Kristen!

Four of our high schoolers spent part of their first week of summer at Troy University.
Tucker McWilliams and John Luke Burns were selected to participate in the Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership seminar. This seminar provides lifelong leadership development opportunities that empower individuals to achieve their highest potential.
Isaiah Patrick and Michael Sharp were chosen to represent Covenant at the 86th American Legion Alabama Boys State. The Boys State program teaches that the preservation of our democracy depends on informed citizens electing responsible officials to administer our government. It offers hands on experience and participation in a model state government. Isaiah was appointed to the House of Representatives and Michael was elected Sheriff of his county .
Summer โ๏ธ campers ๐๏ธ are exploring our world's oceans and sea life in our Under the Sea themed week. These campers are having a whale ๐ณ of a time while learning. They have created an octopus ๐, salt dough star โญ๏ธ fish, salt paintings, and tasked with a STEM challenge to build a shark ๐ฆ tank.

Camp Covenant had a fabulous first day! New friends were made and excitement could be heard throughout our hallways. This week our campers will experience fun and engaging activities that are related to sea life.
We have a couple young Eagles who aren't taking a summer break. Saydee Coan and Adeline Norris went undeafeated with their AAU basketball team over the weekend and won the AL state 7th grade championship! Congratulations!!! ๐
